September in Little Rock

Well, you wouldn't know it from the number of as-yet still packed boxes and Daddy and Mommy's lack of motivation to do anything to make those into unpacked boxes... but we're settled in here in Little Rock. Most of the day, Mommy is still by herself with the girls... which is a very hard job, I think. One of the benefits of Mommy's 24 hours a day job is that she gets extra snuggle time with our little ones... even if sometimes I think she might like to have an empty lap for a change.

Mommy was getting ready to rock Annabelle to sleep. Gabi wanted to help... or at least get her share of Mommy's lap. Oh Mommy, you're so popular!

Another benefit of Mommy's job is to be able to witness all the wonderful silliness that our girls concoct. Gabi found the cardboard cover of our new picnic blanket. She thought it would make a very nice skirt. What do you think?

Perhaps this makes a better tube top... or is it a big belt instead? Also, we are proud to report that Gabi girl has gotten the hang of using the pedals on her tricycle. Cousin Steven says it helps her go "the fastest ever."

Speaking of Cousin Steven, did I say how much the girls like living near their Cousin Steven and his parents, Ninang and Ninong? No? Well, then I'll say it. The girls really like living near their Cousin Steven and his parents, Ninang and Ninong! Gabi got to go swimming with Ninong and Cousin Steven in the pool at their house.

While Gabi was having fun in the pool, Mommy and Daddy were watching the opening game of Notre Dame's football season. Cousin Steven was getting frustrated by how long the game lasted (3 hours or so). Sorry Cousin Steven! We'll go swimming at your house some time when a game isn't on, okay?

After swimming in the pool, Ninong spent some time with little baby Bella. Bella loves having attention! Ninong loves giving attention to Bella! Yeah, it's a pretty good setup.

Lolo's lap is also a fun place to sit. Lolo normally doesn't miss work for anything short of a broken shoulder. Actually, one time he broke his shoulder and went to work anyway. But Lolo always makes time to see his granddaughters.

This past weekend, Mommy took Bella to Texas, but Daddy was on call. Lolo, Lola, Ninong, Ninang, and Cousin Steven all took turns entertaining Gabi girl. Gabi says she "just missed Mommy a little bit." Gabi certainly had a busy busy weekend. She went shopping with Lola and then got an ice cream treat. On the next day, Ninang took her to not one, not three, but two parties before having a sleepover with Cousin Steven at his house. Gabi spent Sunday night at Lola's house. Lolo actually took a day off work on Monday and refused to let Ninang steal Gabi away that afternoon as previously planned. Cousin Steven and Ninong were a little disappointed. Finally, Gabi got to come home with Daddy last night, since he wasn't on call anymore. Lola picked Gabi up from school and took her to play at the indoor gym before Mommy got back into town this evening. Whew! What a busy girl we have!

Now Mommy and Bella are back home and our family is all together again. Gabi showed Mommy how she's memorized several songs from the Raffi CD Lola got her all of 3 days ago. I sure am glad Mommy is home now. Our house doesn't function nearly as well without her.
