Gabi had already gone to bed, but she was awakened by the sound of her baby sister learning to walk in the hallway. Gabi loves to encourage her sister to walk. (Really, Gabi enjoys any chance she gets to tell her sister what to do.)
Later that week, Bella had discovered that being able to walk isn't such a bad mode of travel. For one thing, you can get around the house without hurting your knees on the hardwood floors. For another, you can get at doors you weren't able to reach before. Turning around was still something of a challenge at that point.
At the end of this video, Bella shows off that she is learning how to use her hands as well as her legs. She loves being able to play with big sister's kitchen toys. She is also into putting things in containers and taking them out. Not depicted is the difficulty poor Mommy has when she tries to get the laundry done, only to have a certain little mischief maker pull all the clothes out of the basket!
In part two, Bella has discovered that we have a pet rabbit. Bella calls our bunny "Bah-bah" and loves to talk to her every day. Merlin rabbit tolerates this for a few minutes before deciding to hide from this noisy little girl.
Bella is learning how to play peek-a-boo with her hands, although you can see she hasn't quite figured out the proper hand position. She seems to be a bit more confident walking when she has toys to hold. As you can see, she's even figured out how to stand up without needing to use her hands. If you watch very closely, you can see her wave "hello" after mommy says "Hi there!"
Mommy thought it was funny that, when she was showing me the end of this video and Bella reached for the electrical socket, I felt the need to tell the computer screen "No no!" Silly Daddy. Finally, in addition to her affection for her Lily Bunny (see last post), Bella enjoys playing with baby dolls. She used to steal big sister's dolls (Asha, Ella, or Christine), but they are a bit cumbersome for our little toddler to carry around. Fortunately, she got her very own baby doll for her birthday, which she loves to hold on her shoulder, just like big sister does with her babies.
