Spring Break: Zoo

Annabelle

On Thursday of Spring Break week, I babysat Isabella and Alex (plus our girls) at the zoo. These friends (whom we met through church) have just moved into a house down the street from us, so we look forward to playing with them often. Having four kids to chase around wasn't as difficult as having two "Bellas" -- both Isabella and Annabelle go by "Bella." (Speaking of name confusion, this boy Alex is obviously different from our other friend Alex, a little girl whose full name is Alexandria. Her picture is in the previous post from our day exploring downtown.)

The alligators are sad because they want to eat us.

Gabi: "The alligator is sad."
Me: "I don't think he's sad. I think he's happy."
Gabi: "No, he's sad."
Me: "Why do you think he is sad?"
Gabi: "Because he wants to eat us!"
Me: "Oh, he can't eat us. He's behind the glass, so we're safe."
Gabi: "I know! That's why he's sad."

Michael thinks this picture looks like Alex is doing an excellent Emperor Palpatine impression. "Welcome, young Skywalker. I have been expecting you."
