Halloween

I decided to dress Annabelle as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Gabi wanted to be the Beast, which I thought would be cute to go along with Bella's costume. However, I could not find a ready-made Beast costume. I started piecing together a Beast costume: werewolf hands, a blue blazer or jacket to go over a yellow shirt, a yellow scarf, an 80s wig in place of a beast mask since Gabi probably wouldn't wear a mask, and then began the search for furry leg covers... Gabi eventually got tired of running from store to store with me looking at all the options for parts of a beast costume, so she decided to be Cinderella since we had that costume in her closet from last year. With our two girls both dressed as princesses, Michael chose to be Prince Charming (specifically, Prince Edward from Enchanted). I went as Tinkerbell.

Boo at the Zoo
We definitely enjoyed Boo at the Zoo, although it was late at night. By the end, the girls were exhausted and we had more candy that we even wanted.

Church Carnival
The Halloween Carnival at church was complete chaos, but the girls had a good time. Despite the room being over-crowded, there were no lines for the various game stations set up around the cafeteria.

Halloween Day
Gabi wore her costume to school on Friday (Halloween). Bella and I headed to a Halloween playgroup. It was a bit chilly in the morning, so I dressed Annabelle in an orange-and-yellow giraffe outfit instead of her Belle dress.

Halloween night, we went to a neighborhood party at the little playground. We ate hot dogs and cookies and rode a hayride around the St. Thomas loop to get candy (thankfully not too much). Some of Gabi's new friends who live down the street came, too, and they played on the playground together until it started to get dark. Then we headed home so I could hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. Michael decided to take the girls to our neighbor's house for trick-or-treating, and then Gabi wanted to continue around the block, so they dropped Bella off with me.

Awesome Halloween activities Lissa!!! And I love that the parents seem to love their costumes more than the girls. :) You two are great! Thanks for sharing the pics!
