Family Reunion

The first weekend in August, my dad's siblings held our annual reunion for all the Texas family. That's a total of 80 people, although only 67 were able to come this year. (This event used to be over the 4th of July, but booking a place on a holiday weekend requires a bit more organization than my family has.)

Bella saying hello to Jennifer and Uncle Stephen

Gabi playing piano with cousin Bryn

Bella riding in a box

Gabi joins Bella for the box ride

Lauren is always great with the babies

Gabi swimming with Grampa

Michael playing a rough game of ball with the boys

Gabi was proud of herself for being able to stand in the "shallow" end

And now it's time for the talent show!

Some kids did skits or told jokes

Others sang (including Gabi) or played instruments

Everyone had a good time

The "Original 7" siblings gave Barbie a hard time because she's now 50

Mama Marcia:  mother of 7, grandmother of 21, and great-grandmother of 18 (so far)

Last year, Megan and David were newlyweds at the reunion

Stephen and Alicia were also married one year ago

Family group picture time...  and Gabi wants in on the action

Bella (11 months) and Katelyn (14 months)

Bella using Daddy's legs to walk

Look! I found a cup. Can I have something to drink?

Such a busy weekend! We were all exhausted.

What would a family reunion be without cards?
Uncle Scott gets lots of "help" from little cousins

Annabelle was happy letting other people hold her all weekend!

Of the 236 pictures from the weekend that I uploaded to our Shutterfly account, I initially selected 40 to go on this website. I narrowed it down to 25, though I wish I could have included everyone. It was great to see all my family.

By the way, Annabelle has figured out that she can stand on her own. She's been able to let go of her support for about a month, but now she's finally started to purposefully hold her hands up high and look at you with her face beaming in pride. She doesn't really know where to go from there besides to sit down, though. I'll have to post some videos next.

Do you have a video of Gabi's talent show song? A video of Bella standing up?

I can't wait to come see the girls for Bella's birthday!
