Girls in Texas

The girls and I braved the airport alone to fly to Texas on Gramma Jane's birthday (a Wednesday) since one of my good friends was getting married that weekend. We arrived after the girls' bedtime, but upon seeing all these loving family members who would happily devote attention to her, Gabi perked up with a second wind.

Gabi and Uncle Brian

I think Brian's hair makes him look like a leprechaun, and I love it. It was just in time for St. Patrick's Day, too!

The birthday girls!

Gabi unwittingly showing off great math skills

Aunt Alicia is a high school math teacher, so of course she picked up on the mathematical concepts behind Gabi's block play.

More people to read books with Gabi!

We gave Bella a spoon to entertain her while we ate

Of course we had to schedule a time to see my cousin Jennifer and her kids (well, the youngest two, at least, who are our girls' ages). Jonathan and Gabi were both in Uncle Stephen's wedding last August.

Jonathan was on Uncle Stephen's team

I'm not sure whether they were playing Crazy Eights or Go Fish, but it was neat to see the cousins playing together.

Jonathan and Gabi are showing their true family heritage by playing cards at an early age. What a fun tradition.
